SQL Server Database Programming with Java: Concepts, Designs and Implementations

This textbook covers both fundamental and advanced Java database programming techniques for beginning and experienced students as well as programmers (courses related to database programming in Java with Apache NetBeans IDE 12 environment). A sample SQL Server 2019 Express database, CSE_DEPT, is created and implemented in all example projects throughout this textbook. 
Over 40 real sample database programming projects are covered in this textbook with detailed illustrations and explanations to help students understand the key techniques and programming technologies. Chapters include homework and selected solutions to strengthen and improve students’ learning and understanding for topics they study in the classroom. Both Java desktop and Web applications with SQL Server database programming techniques are discussed and analyzed. Some updated Java techniques, such as Java Server Pages (JSP), Java Server Faces (JSF), Java Web Service (JWS), JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library (JSTL), JavaBeans and Java API for XML Web Services (JAX-WS) are also discussed and implemented in the real projects developed in this textbook.

This textbook targets mainly advanced-level students in computer science, but it also targets entry-level students in computer science and information system. Programmers, software engineers and researchers will also find this textbook useful as a reference for their projects.

Dr. YING BAI is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Johnson C. Smith University. His special interests include: artificial intelligences, soft-computing, mix-language programming, fuzzy logic and deep learning, robotic controls, robots calibrations and database programming.
Since 2003, Dr. Bai has published seventeen (17) books with publishers such as Prentice Hall, CRC Press LLC, Springer, Cambridge University Press and Wiley IEEE Press. The Russian translation of his first book titled Applications Interface Programming Using Multiple Languages was published by Prentice Hall in 2005. The Chinese translation of his 8th book titled Practical Database Programming with Visual C#.NET was published by Tsinghua University Press in China in 2011. Most books are about artificial intelligence and soft-computing, software interfacing and serial port programming, database programming, fuzzy logic controls, microcontroller programming as well as classical and modern controls.

Dr. YING BAI是Johnson C. Smith大學計算機科學與工程系的教授。他的特殊興趣包括：人工智能、軟計算、混合語言編程、模糊邏輯和深度學習、機器人控制、機器人校準和數據庫編程。

自2003年以來，Bai博士已經出版了17本書，出版商包括Prentice Hall、CRC Press LLC、Springer、Cambridge University Press和Wiley IEEE Press。他的第一本書《應用界面編程使用多種語言》的俄文翻譯版於2005年由Prentice Hall出版。他的第八本書《使用Visual C#.NET進行實用數據庫編程》的中文翻譯版於2011年由清華大學出版社在中國出版。大多數書籍涉及人工智能和軟計算、軟件界面和串口編程、數據庫編程、模糊邏輯控制、微控制器編程以及經典和現代控制。
